So, the Mechanisms’ first album is REALLY REALLY GOOD. It’s a musical mix of steampunk, sci-fi, and fairy tales, telling a story of an evil intergalactic empire, bloody revolution, clone armies, and lesbian space princesses. And the band sing in character as a crew of immortal space pirates, and it uses Korobeiniki as the tune of a pre-battle inspiring speech, and its version of Sleeping Beauty is a comatose warrior whose mind is used to power a planetary defence mainframe, and it is GLORIOUS.

Also my favourite song keeps changing every time I listen to it, so you know it’s good when you can’t decide ;)
